RED LIGHTS is the powerful second single from L-FRESH The LION’s forthcoming EP, REINCARNATED. Featuring Australian-Egyptian artist Nardean and produced by Charlotte Adelle—both now based in London—this track is a bold anthem for independence and creative defiance.
Co-produced by L-FRESH and Zig Parker, RED LIGHTS speaks directly to those who’ve had to navigate industry barriers and gatekeepers. It’s about rejecting the status quo—ignoring rules, expectations, and limitations—and carving out your own lane with clarity, courage, and conviction. The track pulses with rebellious energy and sharp lyricism, matched by Nardean’s magnetic presence and Charlotte Adelle’s genre-defying production.
Built around hypnotic synths, pulsing 808s, and sharp percussive textures, RED LIGHTS blends grit and grace in equal measure. Nardean’s melodic hooks float above the beat with quiet fire, while L-FRESH’s verses hit with razor-sharp clarity and intent. The production is both raw and cinematic—like a late-night drive through city streets, lit by ambition and unwavering self-belief.
“I kick off the song with the lyrics, ‘There was no road so I made one, been running red lights since day 1,’” says L-FRESH. “That bar sets the tone—it’s about ignoring the barriers, the gatekeepers, and following your own vision, no matter what.”
If FLY ABOVE IT was the EP’s spiritual lift-off, then RED LIGHTS is the moment of ignition—a statement of purpose from an artist who refuses to be boxed in.
This release continues to build the rollout of the REINCARNATED EP, following live previews of the track during L-FRESH’s shows in Canada and New York.

Yeah
Red lights
yeah
VERSE 1 (L-FRESH The LION):
There was no road so I made one
Been running red lights since day one
Went from wondering when will change come
Then I messed around and I changed some
Yeah no co-signs, no major features
All I seen was roadblocks and gatekeepers
Take a look around now the game need us
Stepped on stage and now they all believers
in all black from sneakers to the crown
No flash, just an unrivalled passion in my sound
From the corner of my eye caught the reaction of the crowd
Imma let it simmer down coz they gon’ need a minute now-
they tried to cuff me but my hands is untied
don’t need an entourage, I’m all your best combined
brought nothing but belief to a gunfight
And left with some vampires in the sunshine
CHORUS:
Yeah red lights
Yeah I’m running red lights
Yeah red lights
Yeah I’m running red lights
Chasing green running red lights
Yeah chasing green running red lights
Yeah red lights
Red lights
VERSE 2 (Nardean):
Do you remember when we had to stay quiet?
Look down, keep our eyes silent
Ideas that we didn’t dare to dare to dream
‘til we high key had to tear the seams
Yeah the fabric of reality just wool over your eyes
They wanna gate keep, yeah they good at telling lies
white suits, yeah they’re fencing, they don’t see the therapy
we been dispensing, like what’s the impression?
it’s sickening, the pharmacy
but it’s fine with me, all the parts you see
cause it’s not for them, it’s for the gang
It’s for the little girl who didn’t know she could sing
it’s for the little boy with roadblocks as parents
Cause nobody that looks like him ever makes an appearance
This is sandpaper for our blisters, I know we been running
But we made it yeah we run it
CHORUS:
Yeah red lights
Yeah I’m running red lights
Yeah red lights
Yeah I’m running red lights
Chasing green running red lights
Yeah chasing green running red lights
Yeah red lights
Red lights
VERSE 3 (L-FRESH The LION):
Yeah
Hand on the wheel and I’m swerving
They never seen a rapper this good in a turban
Pick a lane, pick a vein, dope shit
So potent
Riding waves but I never been surfing
Fam no longer see my ideas as a burden
More like the future, check where we’re heading
Started out counting dreams and now I’m counting blessings
I’m running red lights

FLY ABOVE IT is the first single from the upcoming REINCARNATED EP.
The music video was shot in New York city serving as an homage to L-FRESH's love and gratitude for Hip Hop. It was directed and edited by Joseph Parmanand.
The song captures L-FRESH at his most uplifting—staying true to his brand—as he reflects on his journey. He speaks candidly about personal and professional challenges, finding strength in remembering who he is and what he has overcome. With themes of optimism and resilience, the track is inspired by his family and their unwavering belief in him.
Self-produced and mixed, this single marks the beginning of the next chapter in L-FRESH’s storied career. He debuted tracks from the EP at the Aussie BBQ for Summerstage in New York, representing Australia in the 50 Years of Hip Hop celebrations, before performing them on his headline tour of Canada.
FLY ABOVE IT is the first of a series of consistent releases from the five-track EP. The catalyst for REINCARNATED was a series of personal losses, including the passing of his grandfather and close friend and collaborator, Michael McGlynn. “Creatively, I wanted to refresh everything,” L-FRESH reflects. “I wanted to return with a renewed focus and mindset. Reincarnation, for me, meant saying goodbye to the past and accepting whatever is meant to come next.”

VERSE 1:
Loyalty’s held in high regard but very few keep it
I hold it close to my chest like a best kept secret
Trust lost in the wind and hope is in the ether
Disappointment can be your very best teacher
Yeah, what you know about it? I seen dreams shattered
Been battered, visions once clear became clouded
With no role models to tell me how to go about it
I’m my own biggest believer but also my biggest doubter
Speeding through lanes in the middle of the day
With tears streaming down my face and affirmations shouted
To drown out all the fear I let inside
I close my eyes, yeah, let my faith be the loudest
Redirected my focus, roads rerouted
Uh, I’m way past ten thousand hours
The man in the reflection is the one I’m most proud of
Many times I could have quit but I never stayed down ‘cause
CHORUS:
I can see the peak, I’m reaching for the summit
Ain’t hit my potential yet but I can feel it coming
Everything they said I couldn’t do, man I done it
There’s a fire in my belly, yeah it’s in my stomach
Only way I know how to be is to keep it honest
It’s family first, I wouldn’t trade them in for dollars
Their belief in me is the wings I need to succeed
So when I reach the peak I know I’ma fly above it
Yeah, I’ma fly above it
I’ma fly above it
Yeah, yeah
Yeah said I’ma fly above it
VERSE 2:
Yeah, said I’ma fly above it
It ain’t work if you love it
Yeah, if sky’s the limit I’ma touch it
Grew up seeing my parents give more than a hundred
They was undervalued and underappreciated
But despite the odds stacked against them they went and made it
Now their son is underrated, history repeated
You can underestimate me but my resolve is undefeated
No loyalty when money is involved
I done seen a lot of friendly shoulders turn cold
Yeah, a lot of stories untold
I write them down and maybe one day I’ll let the letters unfold
You could be strongest but if surrounded by hyenas
Nightmares will become reality for the dreamer
Patience is hard for those who never had to wait
Turning your back on a lion is your biggest mistake
So when I reach the peak I know I’ma fly above it
Yeah I’ma fly above it
Said I’ma fly above it
Yeah, check it
Yeah, said I’ma fly above it
Yeah I’ma fly above it
