“SOUTH WEST”, the third album from South West Sydney’s L-FRESH The LION is a raw outpouring, and beloved ode to the place that raised him and continues to inspire him. Amongst empowering messages written to his younger self, L-FRESH The LION reflects on his experience existing in and reconciling two cultures, and the process of decolonisation.

Dedicating the album to his 13-year old self, the record is a collection of lessons L-FRESH wished he had known as a kid; lessons on how to be confident in yourself and to have pride in your culture.

“SOUTH WEST” sees L-FRESH at his most honest, penning stories of his experience as a second-generation migrant kid existing between two cultures and the ongoing effects of Australia’s inherently racist culture.
